New Nursing Home Administrator Announced

On November 14, 2014, Karen Brobst assumed the position of Nursing Home Administrator at Sarah Reed.  Sandy Carlson, our former Administrator, has retired after 22 years of service to our organization.

Karen started her career 19 years ago as a Social Work intern at Sarah Reed. Following her graduation from Edinboro University, she was hired as a full time social worker for our nursing facility. Karen held this position for 10 years. During that time, she served on the Board of Directors for the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. In 2006, Karen became the Director of Resident Services for the Residential & Personal Care areas at Sarah Reed. In 2008, she obtained her certificate as Personal Care Home Administrator. In 2013, Karen was moved into the role of Assistant Administrator of Nursing under Sandy’s guidance and obtained her Nursing Home Administrator license in the fall of 2014.
