August 19, 2021 Update:

We can all agree that the one constant in life is CHANGE.  As many of you are aware, guidelines regarding resident visits, outings, travel and vaccinations continue to change. Our Administrative staff participates in weekly calls and reviews newly released guidance on a daily basis.  We continue to follow all current recommendations from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC.)

Visitation:  Visits must be scheduled in advance to limit occupancy.  All visitors must comply with masking and visits are limited to 30 minutes.  Please contact our Main Office at 814-878-2600.

Outings:  Residents who are going on outings should notify the charge nurse in advance so that the facility can assess the resident’s risk related to the outing.  In certain situations, a resident may need to quarantine upon return to Sarah Reed.

Vaccinations:  Sarah Reed can arrange for residents and staff to have the Johnson & Johnson or the Moderna vaccine.

For questions regarding any of the above topics, please contact Karen Karle at 814-878-2611.

July 22, 2021 Update:

As we continue to enjoy the summer weather and the easing of restrictions in many businesses in the community, please be reminded that the guidance for our residents and our facility is unchanged.  Masks for all staff and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, are required within the building.

Additionally, guidance from our federal and state regulators regarding visits has not changed. We continue to manage occupancy of visitors in our building. As a reminder, all visits need to be scheduled in advance by calling the Main Office 814-878-2600. Visits remain limited to two visitors per resident for a limit of 30 minutes. Visits may be scheduled seven days a week from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. We request that visits not be scheduled during mealtimes as all visits will take place in resident rooms. Regretfully, visitors who show up without an appointment will be turned away.  Thank you for your cooperation!

Finally, we wanted to remind you that residents in our facility fall under the category of “highly vulnerable.”  Therefore, any visitor who has been exposed to COVID are asked to not visit for 14 days past exposure, regardless of vaccination status of the visitor and the resident.
