We are happy to report that our residents and staff are in the process of being vaccinated against COVID-19. We are receiving the Pfizer vaccine, administered on site by Walgreens.
Per DOH and County guidelines, visiting at Sarah Reed is still suspended as indicated below.
Effective September 4, 2020: Visiting to both the nursing home and personal care home are temporarily suspended. Earlier this week, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid services issued federal guidance that nursing home employees be tested regularly for COVID-19 depending upon the positivity levels in the county. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Sarah Reed began testing our employees. We were notified at 10 pm last evening that we had an employee test positive. This employee is asymptomatic and is quarantined at home until cleared to return. Visitation will resume once prerequisites are met which include no new positive cases for 14 days.
To ensure the safety of residents and staff, each facility is required to establish and enforce a reopening plan for visitation. This visitation plan must follow specific requirements and protocols.
Please review the official reopening plan for the Nursing Facility including Maples, Oaks, Pines, and Willows. To schedule an in person visit call Karen Karle at 814-878-2611.
