This employee did not work while infectious; therefore, no outbreak testing is needed at this time. Currently, the entire Reed House facility is a green zone.

March 3, 2023 Update:

This message is for residents and families in the Maples, Oaks, Pines, and Willows. This message is to notify you of 2 newly diagnosed positive employees. Since May of 2020, the cumulative total of positive staff is 178.

Both employees do not have any direct patient contact, therefore no outbreak testing is needed at this time. The Maples has completed testing, with all negative results, therefore this unit has been changed back to a green zone. Currently, the entire Reed House facility is a green zone.

February 28, 2023 Update:

This message is for residents and families in Reed Terrace, Reed Manor, and Zurn Pavilion.  We have one newly diagnosed positive staff person.  This staff member did not have direct contact with residents; therefore, resident testing is not required.

One employee worked in the Maples unit; therefore, the Maples unit has been changed to an orange zone. Residents in the Maples unit were tested today with negative results. The residents will be tested again on day 3 and day 5, then monitored for symptoms for an additional 5 days. The other employee does not have direct patient contact. Currently, the Oaks, Pines, and Willows are green units.

February 13, 2023 Update:

This message is for staff, residents, and families in Reed Terrace, Reed Manor, and Zurn Pavilion. This message is to notify you that there is one newly diagnosed staff COVID case and 1 new resident case in Reed Manor. Zurn Pavilion is an Orange Zone and the 4th floor of Reed Manor is an Orange Zone. Residents in Zurn Pavilion were tested and all tests were negative.  Residents in Reed Manor and Zurn Pavilion, again, will be tested on Tuesday of this week.

Visitation is not suspended but we do ask that all visitors wear an N95 mask when they are visiting residents in an Orange Zone.  Please remain alert to the automated messaging system for further updates.

This employee worked in the Pines unit. All residents in the Pines unit were tested today with negative results. The residents will be tested again on day 3 and day 5, then monitored for symptoms for the next 10 days. Currently, the entire Reed House facility will remain a green zone.

December 31, 2022 Update:

We have completed resident testing and there is 1 new resident case in Reed Manor. Reed Manor 2nd floor is now an Orange Zone.  All other areas are Green Zones.  There are two active staff cases. We will retest residents in Reed Manor on Tuesday, January 3rd.

If you are experiencing any COVID or flu-like symptoms, we ask that you refrain from coming into the building until your symptoms have resolved.  Also, please contact the nurses’ station at (814) 878-2773 if your loved one was exposed to a COVID positive person.

Contact tracing has been completed with 9 identified resident contacts on the Maples unit; these individuals were tested today with negative results and will continue to undergo testing. The Maples unit has been changed to an orange zone and an N95 mask must be worn.

This message is to notify residents and families that there is one newly diagnosed positive resident COVID case in Reed Manor.  There is also one active staff case.

Residents should notify the personal care nursing staff if they are experiencing any new symptoms of COVID or flu, no matter how minor the symptom.  Activities will continue but residents should wear a mask when outside of their apartments and during activities.  If residents wish to visit with each other, please wear a mask and remain 6 feet apart. Dining Room seating has been changed so that only two residents are seated at a table and a plexiglass partition between the residents is on each table.  When cases have resolved, regular dining room seating will resume.

October 19, 2022 Update:

This is a message regarding flu shots, COVID boosters, and active COVID cases.  Residents in Reed Terrace and Reed Manor, who would like a flu shot, may receive theirs on Tuesday, October 25th beginning at 10:00 AM. A nurse will come to each apartment to administer the shot.  Residents in Zurn Pavilion will receive their flu shots on Tuesday, November 1st. The BiValent COVID Booster is available for residents who are no longer in COVID quarantine and have received their last Booster at least 2 months ago. The Boosters will be administered on 11/3, 11/10, and 11/17.  Please contact Carey Mastrian or Barb Morales if you are interested in a Booster shot on one of those days.

There are currently 8 active resident cases in Zurn Pavilion, 3 active resident cases in Reed Manor, and 1 active resident case in Reed Terrace.  There are 3 active staff cases.  Please remain alert to the automated messaging system for additional updates.

This message is for all residents and families of Zurn Pavilion, Reed Terrace, and Reed Manor.  This message is to notify you that a staff person in personal care tested positive for COVID today. The last day this person worked was in Zurn Pavilion, so those residents were tested today and all tests were negative.  Residents in Zurn Pavilion will be tested again on Thursday, April 7th.  Unvaccinated staff will continue to be tested twice weekly and fully vaccinated and boosted staff will continue to be tested weekly.

The Reed Terrace Dining Room will re-open on Thursday, January 27th beginning with breakfast.  Group activities will resume on Thursday also. January 24, 2022 Update:

This is a message for residents and families in Reed Terrace, Reed Manor, and Zurn Pavilion. Please read this message in its entirety.  First, this message is to notify you that we have 2 newly diagnosed positive staff members.  One staff member has not been in the building for the last 19 days.  Currently, there is one active resident COVID case and 7 active staff COVID cases.  The dining room and beauty shop are still closed and activities will still be conducted virtually on Channel 8.

Also, we have received new guidance with respect to testing protocols.  If a resident or staff becomes positive for COVID, contact tracing will be completed and only those residents who have had direct contact with that positive person 48 hours prior to the onset of their symptoms of that positive person will be tested. The second round of testing of Zurn Pavilion residents has been completed today and all tests were negative. As of today, residents in Zurn Pavilion will no longer need to be tested.  There are 15 residents in Reed Terrace and Reed Manor who are now undergoing testing.  The next test date for these residents is Wednesday, January 26th.   Those families will be informed via this messaging system of the results.

Due to this new outbreak, and following DHS guidance, the dining room will be closed and meals will be brought to residents in their apartment beginning with Lunch today. In-person activities are canceled but will still be held virtually on Channel 8.  Visitation of residents is not affected.

For the protection of visitors and residents, if you are experiencing any COVID-like symptoms, we are encouraging you to refrain from coming into the building.  All visitors must keep a mask on when walking to and from the apartments as well as during the visit in the apartments. Beginning Monday, December 6th, we will make the Myrtle Street entrance accessible for visitation from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors to the Oaks and Willows may find it more convenient to park near this entrance. Please use the intercom system located on the wall to your right, when you walk through the first set of doors, to gain access. The bar you push on the intercom has a little red light on it and a label underneath that says “press here”. The receptionist will answer and give you access to the lobby. All visitors must use the kiosk located at the reception desk to sign in, answer screening questions, and print a name badge before visiting a resident. The door will automatically open for you when you are ready to exit the building. If it is locked when you are ready to leave, please see a staff member to assist you.

November 22, 2021 Update:

This message is for residents and families in the Maples, Oaks, Pines, and Willows.  This is to notify you of one newly diagnosed positive employee. Since May 2020, the cumulative total of positive staff is 74.

The staff member worked in the Pines. Therefore, all residents in the Pines will be tested on Wednesday, November 24th, and every 3-5 days for the next 14 days. This is in accordance with DOH guidelines. Staff continues to undergo testing until the facility can achieve 14 days with no new diagnoses.

As a reminder, visitation is no longer suspended when there is a positive case.

November 17, 2021 Update:
