Testimonials
The therapy I received for my knee replacement surgery was great! I stayed in the Skilled Nursing Facility and everything was just great. Having a private room was so important to me.
— Kathy K.
Never did I think I could like living in a nursing home but I really do! After a heart attack and broken hip, I can no longer live alone. The staff here is so helpful, and my room is very comfortable! I especially enjoyed the physical therapy I received.
— Francis F.
When we walked in and saw the bright, spacious apartment we knew this was the place for us! We love the view from our apartment. Everyone here was so welcoming and made us feel right at home!

November continued to be an exciting time here at SRSL. Residents enjoyed a lovely Veteran's Day Program with guest vocalists Sondra Marshall & Gabriel Borrero, accompanied by guest vocalist and speaker, Rev. David Edmunds. Our own Activities Supervisor, Julie, also accompanied the group. The program consisted of musical pieces that paid homage to all Veterans, especially our own. Two SRSL residents got up to read at points during the service - Jane Hess and Jim Mehs (who is a veteran). The program ended with the distribution of a gift bag as seen in the posted photos. In them were: "Thank You" Cards, a flag lapel pin, and a personalized name tag (covered in the photo for privacy). The gift was made possible by SRSL, with a little help from Julie's mother, Beverly. Elley from CURANA brought a lovely spread of bagels and coffee for all to enjoy after the event.
Another program the residents enjoyed this past month entailed a guest visit from some members of The Mercy Hill Top Center. Everyone gathered to socialize and to enjoy some wonderful music. Our Forefront Kitchen provided those in attendance with delicious cider and Apple Crisp.
Up next was the "Patriotic Leadership" speaker, Michael Cortes, who spoke about his time in the Marine Corps. The topic was "Marine Corps to Dad Corps". In the Marines, Michael learned leadership skills that he found so useful in many other parts of his life…especially fatherhood. He was a dynamic and engaging speaker providing lots of perspective and insight.
Before Thanksgiving, we had our "Piggy Party". It was wonderful to see the residents so excited to watch, pet, and especially LEARN about the Piggies!! Maribeth from the Tree Family Party Piggies was very skilled at handling our guest Piggies while answering many questions from the residents. A few residents even took the opportunity to snuggle with the piggies!! This event was certainly enjoyed!! We will have to have those cute piggies back for a visit! There will be more lovely pictures and information to come...Stay Tuned!! ... See MoreSee Less
